I asked about concerts and was given a long list of options. Most of the concerts feature a combination of Strauss and Mozart. We chose two concerts, both at the historic Karlskirche or Charles Church. On Friday night we heard Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and the Mozart Requiem on Saturday.
The music at each concert was performed with period instruments. The strings looked to me to be identical to their contemporary counterparts, but the trombones were clearly from a different era. For me this was one of the highlights of our trip.
During the day on Saturday we took a bus trip to Melk.
