Here’s the most photographed rathaus in Germany.

bamberglindaIt sits on an island in the middle of a river. The artist who did the mural on the outside of the building added a leg to make sure that his work was remembered.

bamberglegThere is a small Jewish population in Bamberg, mostly immigrants from eastern Europe. The entrance to their synagogue is a very plain-looking door accessible from a back alley, all designed to be as invisible as possible.2013-06-27_08.36.08

High above the city is the Benedictine Kloster St Michael, a former mosastery. It now houses a retirement home and a beer museum.
