One of the stated purposes of Grand Circle Cruise Line is to help visitors learn about life in other countries. Our home hosted event was in a small town near Ingolstadt, where Audi headquarters are located.
Our host visited with six of us for roughly two hours at her home.
The village is in a beautiful area and property values are high. The house is nicely finished with Apple computers inside and a Weber grill and robot lawn mower in the extra lot on the side of the house. The house is three stories high, with grandparents on the first floor and teenage children on the top floor. Near the end of the visit we were served coffee and cake. The hosts volunteer by responding to newspaper ads, are screened by Grand Circle, and are reimbursed a moderate amount to pay for the refreshments.
After our visit the bus picked us up, along with three other similar groups, and took us back to Nuremberg. The next day we were scheduled to stop in Regensburg on our way to Bamberg, where we would stay for the next two nights.
