As usual, the year began at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, this time held in San Francisco. As time goes on, these meetings more and more on sight seeing and less and less on the content of the meetings. San Francisco is one of my favorite locations for a meeting in January. The city is easy to walk and there is much to see.
Every year near Memorial Day, Mill Creek hosts a fishing contest for children.
